A shoe storage bench does two jobs in a small space. The seat is at a comfortable height for pulling on boots, and the shelves or cupboards underneath keep shoes off the floor. In most homes it is a piece of furniture that gets used every day.
Width and depth
The benches here run from about 55cm wide, enough for one person, up to about 120cm, which seats two. Depth is usually 30cm to 40cm, and seat height around 40cm to 50cm. Measure the hall with the front door open and allow room to walk past.
