One unit for coats and shoes
A coat and shoe rack, often called a hall tree, combines a coat stand and a shoe rack in one frame. Coats, scarves and bags hang on hooks at the top, and shoes sit on shelves underneath. Many add a bench seat so you can sit down to put boots on, and some have small drawers or a side pocket for keys and post.
Measure the hallway first
Most units here are 30cm to 40cm deep and 165cm to 190cm tall, with widths from about 45cm for a slim corner stand up to around 120cm. Depth matters most in a narrow hall. At around 30cm the rack stays clear of the front door and the bottom stair. Measure the space with the door open, and leave room to walk past.
