A Practical and Welcoming Addition to the Hallway

The bench is another thoughtful touch. Sitting down to put shoes on is much more comfortable than balancing on one leg or trying to bend down awkwardly. The removable cushion adds some extra comfort, and I like that it has anti-slip material underneath to help prevent it from moving around. The solid rubberwood construction gives the unit a more substantial feel than some lightweight hallway furniture. The natural wood grain is attractive, and the walnut finish gives it a warm, understated appearance that fits easily with different interiors. It also feels reassuringly sturdy when sitting on t

sturdy hallway bench but a bit pricey for simple timber

The solid rubberwood frame has a sturdy weight to it once screwed together, taking my full weight of 85kg on the padded bench without any wobble or creaking. Putting it together took about 25 minutes with the supplied allen key, though unpacking it leaves polystyrene bits sticking to everything in the hall. Marketing claims space for up to four pairs of shoes, but in daily use is that larger adult boots take up the whole shelf, so in reality you only get two or three pairs on there . Well made high quality piece of furniture.

You get shipped a large box, carefully packed with all pieces internally protected with thick foam. Included in the box are the pieces for self assembly, the top seat, middle shelf, two end legs, the coat rack pole in two halves that screw together, the single long cushion that is moulded to fit around the coat rack. Also in the box was all the hardware and tools needed. 11 bolts, 2 washers, 2 allen keys, some protective felt pads and 8 pegs for the coat rack.

Worth It

My husband set this thing up in less than an hour. It's a nice walnut shade that is both beautiful and sturdy. He is a size 11 shoe and I was able to fit 4 pairs of his shoes on the top and 4 on the bottom of the shoe rack. It fits our space perfectly and just what we needed to put in our shoes and store them.

This is awesome and worth every penny!

Got this today and since I was anxiously waiting as I work on a wall in my living room, and wasn't doing much, we put it together right away. I was reluctant at first, didn't know if I wanted to spend this much, but it's well worth it. The delivery went flawlessly, the packaging was excellent and arrived in perfect condition. The bench was packed well with instructions and hardware packaged separately. And so easy to put together. We got it done in about half an hour. It seems very sturdy and worth every penny. Love it! If I had room by my back door, I'd get another.
