Fantastic item

Wanted to replace our old gas fire but keep fireplace. Considered lots of options until I came across this. Didn't want freestanding so went with inset. Old fire out, new one slotted in just fine (with a bit of chiselling out of fireplace). Easy to follow instructions. End result is a lovely, modern fire which gives off lots of heat, even on setting one. Can just have flame effect on and the room feels warmer. Yes fan takes a bit of getting use to, but will soon be un-noticable after a few uses. Well worth the money.

Great electric fire

Its compact and fits well into the space from my old fireplace. Looks very modern and am very pleased with my purchase. It did not come with a remote control but the buttons can easily be reached to switch on and off. Looks fab and very warm looking when just the lights are turned on.

Warm, but a bit noisy

The fire has two heat settings which does sound similar to the noise level of someone drying their hair in another room, but the noise stays the same regardless of whether the higher or lower heat setting is being used; I'm glad at least that it doesn't get any louder. It does take a bit of getting used to, but the fire is a good price, will never look dated and Dimplex is a very good brand. There's also a thermostat which means that the fire should operate when the temperature falls below a set level; I've yet to master this to be honest but haven't been using the fire much as its main purpos

Extra warmth

My partners parents have just had their old fire ripped out and their bungalow fitted with a new central heating system. So she decided we would get them an electric heater for their frontroom to go were their old fire was. This was our choice and what a great decision it was. Her parents love it and seeing as they're both retired and spend most of their time when home in their frontroom they can have this on instead of the central heating. This saves them money whilst keeping them warm.

My old fire that cost over six times more than this stopped working, the heat worked but not the flame effect.
