One of my main concerns was the moving parts and how likely they were to break, how much maintenance they needed, and how much stress they put on the bag and the mechanism itself. The bin has two hinges where the lid attaches and a spring-loaded mechanism. The lid is held down by a clip attached to the "touch bar," and all of the moving parts do not touch the bin liner. The mechanisms are all well-built, and it's unlikely that the contents from the bin will get close to any important mechanisms. Expensive but really good.

Two really minor points on mine but they don't make me want to reduce my overall score; the first is my lid is ever so slightly misaligned, no one else has noticed it so perhaps I'm a bit picky (but it is expensive for a bin), the second is (and this is definately me being picky) it is noisy to close, a definate metallic clunk, but hey it's a bin.

Great quality bin

This is a good quality bin, that looks good and fits neatly against the kitchen wall. I like the touch bar opening and it is a great size for a family. Worth the money

Great bin, worth every penny.

Never thought I'd spend so much on a bin. I've had it two months and it still brings me joy. The opening is wide enough that nothing misses the bin and ends up down it's front or on the floor. There are no sharp edges and no suction effect so a full bag is quick and easy to empty. It's wipe clean and fingerprint-proof. You can open it with your hip/elbow when your hands are full.

Very smart looking but on the expensive side

I've been looking for a rectangular bin that isn't open on foot and isn't made of plastic; this one seems to be the only one on the market. The bin looks really nice and will fit any high-end home for sure. I've been using it for a few months; the open mechanism still works perfectly and it's easy to clean and change the bag. This bin would fit a small household for a few days or a big family if you change bag every day.
