Which air fryer size do you need?

Air fryers are sold by capacity in litres, and the right size depends on how many people you cook for. As a rough guide:

• 4 to 6 litres suits one or two people, or sides for a family.
• 7 to 9.5 litres suits a family of three to five. Most dual basket models sit here.
• 10 litres and up means a large single drawer or an air fryer oven with shelves, good for a whole chicken or batch cooking.

Single drawer or dual basket

A single drawer is simple and fits more counters. A dual basket air fryer has two separate drawers, each with its own heat and timer, so chips and chicken can cook at once at different settings. Some have a button that sets both drawers to finish together. If you often cook two things at once, it is worth the extra width.

Air fryer ovens

An oven style air fryer has a door and shelves instead of a drawer. Several here add a rotisserie spit. They take more counter space and can replace a small oven for everyday meals.

Handy extras
