Finally there's a "line tie" that the 4 strings are tied to, mounted lower down on the wall. I'm not sure if this thing has a name in English, but you seem to see them a lot in Spain, for instance to operate external window blinds. Basically it's a kind of spring loaded reel that holds the frame at whatever height you set it to. To lower the frame you pull some line out horizontally away from the reel then let it drop down (the reel won't allow line to pull out vertically upwards).
