Nice but not quite to Kallax standards
The finish of this unit is a little less "clean" than a Kallax. With Kallax, the top and bottom sections sit on the sides, so you get a completely flat top and bottom. With this unit the top and bottom sit between the sides, so the top and bottom aren't then completely flat. Hopefully you can see what I mean in my second image!
Simple storage unit
The finish is neat, the open‑back design keeps it visually light, and the 13×13 cubes fit standard fabric bins just like the larger units in this range. The screw covers are just stickers, but the unit itself looks tidy and does the job well.
Amazing value and very practical.
This shelving unit was only £9.99 and was really quick and easy to build. The quality seems decent - it's made from engineered particleboard with a solid wood core, so it has a nice, home-quality texture to it. The frame is thickened and has an anti-tipping design, so it feels sturdy, and each cube can hold up to 50 pounds, which is more than enough for what I needed. I wanted something to go at the end of my sofa, and it does the job perfectly, with a spacious top that can also be styled with ornaments if you want to personalise it further. It can be displayed either vertically or horizontall
