All in all this, as we might expect, is sturdy robust and beautifully engineered. My weedy muscles meant I had to employ one or two tricks to insert it correctly but it fits the 50mm diameter German rotary clothes lines perfectly and would also allow one to move it should the need arise, which is what I suspect most owners would prefer rather than fixing thee whole thing in concrete. I would say that if you have a compatible rotary drier ( can also be used for umbrellas as well ) , then it's essential.

I ordered this as I did not want to concrete my spike in and it is very sturdy. It's got a handy red cover so you can remove the line and close the hole up. My only problem was screwing it in the ground, as the spike is quite wide it's tough going. I found the solution was to get another metal tube put it over the metal bar provided for screwing in the spike which gave extra leverage so easy once I worked that out. Actually I think I read it on another review - old scaffolding is perfect, I actually used the end of my old metal washing line same effect. The other thing I'm going to do in the a

Excellent Item

Very prompt delivery and service. This item is exactly what I wanted as an additional support for the 5cm pole of my Aquapur washing line bought from Lidls. The socket came supplied with a turning rod for easy insertion. It was simple to install, I did use a piece of steel piping to loop over the end of the rod for extra leverage. The support and loaded washing line are now perfectly secure in their position with no need to concrete the support into place. I am very pleased with the item and would recommend it to others.

Great ... but ...

This works well if you take your time to check it is level every "rotation" as you drive it in. The only problem is in clay soil, after a lot of rain it starts to loosen off. Not a problem with the product, but bear in mind. You might want use a ground spike set in concrete.
