Thanks to the wide commercial coffee basket and super-fine coffee grounds, Picopresso produces an extraction akin to a lever espresso machine: rich, syrupy, and balanced. The authentic cafe-quality espresso will rival any expensive high-end machine.
This specialty coffee espresso machine features a naked portafilter, so users will see delicious creamy espresso flowing directly from a standard 52mm 18 grams stainless steel filter basket during the brewing process.

Noted: Commercial pre-ground coffee will not work well to extract a nice espresso with crema. The use of fresh coffee bean is highly recommanded for best result. Dialing-in (adjusting the grind size) is part of the process to achieve perfect extraction.
Legendary
I’ll start by saying I didn’t have high expectations in terms of flavour and extraction. I’ve tried other portable coffee machines before, and they produced a runny coffee that looked more like brown water than a proper espresso. Because of that, I was fully expecting a similar result here and was ready to return it if it didn’t deliver.
The best portable espresso device - Ever
The Picopresso is absolute genius and the closest I can get to a portable device that delivers barista quality espresso. I own multiple portable espresso devices and this one leaves them all standing. I also have a pretty hefty espresso setup at home (yes I know a bit sad) and I therefore have high expectations when it comes to my daily shot or two. The Picopresso if used correctly can deliver trully exceptional results. When my home machine went in for its service a few weeks ago I used the Picopresso every day and was more than happy.
Fun to use
I initially ground too coarse and had no crema, then I ground too fine (Turkish) and it wouldn't push water through, there is a pressure bypass, so it will just cycle water back into the chamber if there is too much pressure in the pump. Then I hit the goldilocks and got some beautiful golden crema. Very happy. I feel like the trick is short, quick pumps to build good, consistent pressure.
I mean... wow.
Ive had the minipresso GR gifted a long while ago. It was good, and I did enjoy it. But having to manage overpressure (once I had to dismantle the whole unit as a tiny gasket move off its place).. plus the low 8gr beans espresso capacity, ultimately sent it to the back of the cupboard.
The GOAT of ultra portable espresso
This produces a barista quality shot. The other Wacaco devices were clearly just dress rehearsals paving the way for this. Faffing with the Mini and the Nano is like playing with toys; this is the grown up portable espresso maker. Very solid, high quality construction producing a reassuringly syrupy and well extracted shot.
