I will need to get an electrician to install this of course – there is no way I would recommend this as a DIY job as this needs to be wired to the home lighting circuit – a job for a professional. There are instructions but these are in very small print. The ceiling plate has a metal support bracket inside and fixings are also supplied. Ideally even though this is not too heavy you would want to connect the fixing plate to a wooden joist. Another reason why this is best left to an expert.
