After an initial rapid expansion the mattress gradually continues to expand to its full volume, the instructions advise leaving it for 48-72 hours to reach its full potential. Once this first layer of incredibly thick polythene covering was removed, it rapidly expanded into a very thick mattress. There are no odd noises or odours. It ends up being almost flawless. I don't sink into it uncomfortably because it is firm enough. My shoulder and chest need to be supported at around the same level because I sleep on my side. I ordered this hybrid mattress in Double as an upgrade to my existing mattress. It comes vacuum-sealed in a surprisingly compact (but very heavy!) long square-tubed cardboard parcel. On first appearance, this looks like it’s going to be thin- I am intrigued how they manage to get it to compact so small! Tip: it’s well worth having it in its place on the bed when you release it, as it unrolls with some force, and immediately becomes the size of mattress expected. This is genuinely, the best mattress ive ever slept on. I have scoliosis, so buying a mattress made me nervous. But this is so so good, easy to get out the bag and unroll, definitely let it inflate for 2 days minimum. But seriously great bed !

A definite bargain

The real problem with reviewing this is that what you really want to know about a mattress is how it lasts and how the foam and springs holds up over time, which I cant review at this stage, however there is another way to look at it, you may have paid 5 times less than you would from a mattress store, so you can replace this 5 times as often should you have issues, and when you look at it like that, its a bit of a bargain I think.
