Well built press but still requires a lot of force to use

It requires a lot of force once you are pressing (or you can do it with 2 people, one holding the press and the other turning the handle). I tend to turn the handle as far as I can and then leave it for a few mins before the handle can turn again. For this reason, I think it takes as much time as if you were pressing the fruit in a sieve but at least you have free time to do things in between.

Great buy

My wife and I make Elderberry Rob every September which lasts us over the winter. If you don't know what that is, look it up on the Internet. The only problem we've had in the past is getting the maximum amount of juice out of the very hot pulp. Having burnt my hands for a few years I decided to buy this press. And boy, did it make a difference! We got way more Rob from our berries this year than ever before and I didn't have to scald myself doing it! We've decided to try making cordials etc. from other fruits since we invested in this machine. Its very sturdy and will see us both out I think.

Better made and much more hygienic than wooden presses!

Its harvest time for home made wines and cider. I use to use a standard wooden press but left in an outside shed these tend to get mildew...no thanks!!. This press is made of aluminium so it won't rust and won't get unwelcome organisms growing on it. Very easy to wash clean and put away for next. I know it may seem expensive but you'll not need to replace it (unlike the wooden ones). Also - buy the bigger one, it will save time. I didn't give 5 stars because the pressed juice can rise above the pressing plate if you allow the skins to accumulate, blocking the lower juice straining holes. Also

Plantmilk!

Sturdy and good quality. I use it to make soymilk. It is brilliant and really saves your hands from doing all that squeezing and work. And you get every drop out of the okara.

Works for small scale honeycomb extracting.

Easy to assemble. Used for extracting honey from natural comb. Does the job and the mesh bag supplied is also effective at filtering. I tilted the press forward slightly to enable the honey to drop through the pipe more easily.
