Whilst the listing does not say what it is made out of, the label on the rug says 100% Polyester with a PVC backing. It feels like jute and the backing is bonded with little bumps to stop it slipping. Overall, it feels quite thick and it is certainly lovely to walk on. It looks nice in my outdoor area and although it should not get wet, it says it is waterproof and machine washable should anything get spilt on it.
Rug as expected, although a little darker than expected
The colour of the rug is made to look like those durable natural fibres, where some parts of it are ‘clean’ fibre and some are ‘dirty’ (like jute, for example); however, this is merely a pattern on the rug rather than it being the way the rug was constructed. That said, when I received the rug, the initial colour left me a little worried as the colours looked more like that of an outdoor rug rather than the image attached in the listing of it in a living room - the rug has much more black elements to it compared to the listing where it is a more consistent brown colour. This faux jute rug is an excellent addition to an outdoor space, providing a natural look with all the practical benefits of synthetic materials. Practical And Works Indoors and Outdoors.
I ordered the GENIMO Indoor Outdoor Re-Jute Rug large size, and it’s been a really useful addition to my space. I wanted something that could handle a bit more wear but still look good, and this has been a great balance. The first thing I noticed was the size, it covers a good area and instantly makes the space feel more put together, whether indoors or outside.
