P7c Variable Speed Dial says that it is only active when the High/Variable switch is set in the Variable position, but there is no such named switch on the machine or shown on pages 5 or 6, so I assumed that the rotary knob is the High/Variable switch... The warning below says to make sure (sic) that the dial is set to 0 before turning on the power switch, which means that the motor is controlled by the Variable knob 1–8, not the 0=Off or the power switch.
