2. It does take a bit of effort to snap out from folded state, as it is quite rigid, but once you understand, it's not so bad. It does look confusing at first to open when folded, but the ends of the bench meet with curved edges and should be opened out from that side, unlike the middle which has metal bars sticking out. It doesn't have any instruction manual as it's directly on the packaging, so it might be hard to straighten the legs out at first: you have to push the legs out and then pull the diagonal metal bar fully out, as this holds the legs from closing in.
