Van Metal Platform Bed Frame Steel

Super simple but sturdy bed.

I joined all the sections together and only did the screws up about 90% until I knew it was all square, although the frame is shaped in such a way, that each leg fits perfectly into its matching shape. Initially I thought it was going to be lacking in sturdiness, however, nipping the bolts up to full tight the bed is now rock solid. Yes its lighter weight than a wooden bed would be and moved a little on the laminate floor, but once the mattress is on (which ours is really heavy) it stays put, yet is easy enough to pull forward and back to make the bed. Excellent solid frame for the price

The metalwork is nicely finished, however it does seem to chip/scratch quite easily so be mindful of that when assembling. A more hard-wearing powder coating would be great but I won’t moan at this price, just be careful and have a black marker pen handy.

Very happy with purchase

So far this bed frame is exceeding my expectation, excellent price, very sturdy. Very easy to put together, only took about 20 mins. Easy to position in my son’s very small room. Really liked that there are sticky tape on some of the slats to adhere to the mattress. Space underneath is perfect. Appearance looks very smart. Very pleased so far.

Finally, I can get some sleep!

Having slept in a somewhat inadequate bed for some time, I decided to try something new. Of course, you can spend a fortune on these things but that wasn't my goal, as I had a good mattress but the previous base was noisy and rickety.

Assembly: The metal slat bed has a more pieces and was a more involved build. The frame sides are in two pieces. The instructions had me assembling the foot of the frame into U with the feet attached and the head into an n with the feet attached. I was then to join the two assemblies into the complete frame. When I went to do so, one of the sides had a slight twist preventing the join. I tried using a large adjustable spanner (Crescent wrench) to twist the rectangular tube to fit. Assembly was relatively painless. I give a lot of credit for them including a ratchet, rather than just the standard Allen wrench, as I found that exceptionally useful. The way the instructions are set-up is unique from my experience, but it worked well enough. All the parts are labelled with numbered stickers, but they don't identify the part, they identify a specific *location* on the part. You line that up with diagrams in the instructions, e.g. that show a 2 and a 2 locking together. It's curious that the numbers are not entirely unique, they are duplicated in multiple places on multiple p

Worth the money

The kit was simple, and there was only 8 steps to the instructions it came with both an allen key and a ratchet. It can be built in a small space and is a fully sized single bed.
