The scale is at the BOTTOM

I wrongly assumed that as I put beans into the top area, I'd see how much I'd put in there. This would be great, as I previously would weigh the beans, grind them and then transfer the ground coffee into my cafetière. Unfortunately for my assumptions, the Calibra weighs *after* grinding, not before. This is unfortunate, as I'm not the only one who uses a grinder. I didn't want to have to dump beans into the grinder and then remove the beans that haven't been ground.

Great grinder from a quality brand

This is my first electric burr grinder. I’ve not seen one that fits my needs for the price I wanted to pay until I came across this one from Melitta. It’s well made and looks great, has plenty of settings to play around with and does a quick and great job of grinding the beans. Two slight negatives are that it is quite loud and the weighing system seems to be one gram out compared to my other scales. I’ve tried the Tare button each time to correct it but this doesn’t seem to do the trick . No real problem , I just grind 14 grams when I want 15 grams etc. Also to note , many other electric burr

Next to zero retention, easy to use and clean. Not for espresso though.

It’s a good grinder from Melitta with some nice features but some flaws too. For anything from French press and pour over to mocha pots this would do fine. Very quick machine (6sec for 20gr on pour over dialling) easy to take apart and clean, with almost zero retention. The main reason I purchased this was that it could fit my v60 and just grind directly - and have been extremely happy after six months of daily use. However, the integrated scale is not at all accurate and due to dialling steps being too far apart, it’s not fit for espresso. You can go from too coarse to choking the machine in

Super Grinder ☕️

It looks great on the kitchen worktop, cleans relatively easily, seems to grind relatively accurately, and the scales also seem to be accurate. I've only had the grinder for less than a week, so yet to explore the variety of options the grinder offers.

Quick, not too noisy, nice even grounds

I've hesitated making the jump to buying coffee beans because of the cost of buying a "good enough" grinder. What prompted me in the end is that realistically I don't see me buying an espresso machine without a pressurised basket, so don't need a machine capable of grinding fine enough coffee for "proper" espresso.
