Well made versatile dog bed / car seat, although on the pricey side
I also went for this one as the covers can all be removed for washing (very practical), which isn't always possible with dog beds. Initially I couldn't find the zip for the main section, but eventually found it in the base (turning it inside out makes it easy to access).
Memory Foam Dog Car Seat with Secure Straps and Removable Cover
This velour-covered dog car seat features a thick memory foam padded base designed to provide a supportive resting area during travel. The brown and black cover has a soft finish and the padding maintains its structure well under the weight of a larger dog such as a 30kg Labrador. The internal space allows a dog of this size to curl up comfortably, although there is limited room for stretching out fully. The quality is decent, with the bed arriving vacuum sealed, so you don't need to do anything other than remove the bed from the packaging as it will just expand to its full size and then it's ready to be used. Once in the car you simply thread the seatbelt through the hoops on the rear of the bed and hook the other straps over the head rest. There are some hooks to attach to your dog too, but as my dog is quite strong I use a separate heavy duty lead attached to the head rest, though the included ones would be fine for gentler dogs. Excellent quality
It was easy to install, feels secure once fitted, and I like that it comes with safety straps for extra peace of mind. The raised sides make my dog feel cosy and help stop them moving around too much while we’re driving. As an added bonus, it also doubles as a comfortable bed when we’re away from home.
Comfortable and well-made dog car seat that's built to last
The design is well thought out. It's easy to install and fits securely in the car using the supplied straps, while the raised sides help create a cosy, enclosed space, which is something my dog finds reassuring on longer journeys. The integrated safety tethers are another welcome feature, helping to keep your dog secure while travelling. Although we do also still use his seatbelt, for added safety.
